The return of Weatherford College men’s golf was a successful one.
The last time the Weatherford College men’s golf team competed for a national championship, none of the current players had yet been born. For the first time since 1997, the Coyotes are among the field competing in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament.
The Weatherford College men’s golf team brought home a share of the championship from the Shawnee Shootout in Oklahoma, finishing in a tie with Southwestern Christian University for first place out of 15 teams March 28-29.

The first fall season in the return of men’s golf to Weatherford College is in the books. And if you ask head coach Jesse Speirs, it was a good return after the program was on a sabbatical of more than two decades.
The Weatherford College men’s golf team had its best outing of the year so far, finishing second out of 11 teams with Bryce McCracken taking first place at the UHV Fall Classic in Victoria Monday and Tuesday.
