Coyotes move to No. 2 in the nation
The Coyotes leapfrogged former No. 1 Miami Dade following a recent loss and are currently dominating conference play with 29 consecutive conference victories dating back to last year, including sweeping 19 opponents this season.
The Weatherford College volleyball team moved up one spot to No. 2 in the nation in the latest Division I poll released Oct. 6 by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
The Coyotes (21-2) leapfrogged former No. 1 Miami Dade College (16-2) after MDC lost to top-ranked Florida Southwestern State College (17-1) on Oct. 1.
Odessa College (21-1) remained at No. 4. Other Region V schools in the poll included No. 9 New Mexico Military Institute (17-6) and No. 18 Frank Phillips College (12-3).
Weatherford won its ninth straight match Saturday against McLennan Community College. The Coyotes are 10-0 this year in conference play with 29 conference wins going back to last year.
As of Saturday, WC has swept 19 opponents this season.
