WC to host NJCAA postseason women’s golf tournament
Top-ranked teams, including No. 12 WC, to compete for spots at nationals
For the second year in a row, Weatherford College is hosting the National Junior College Athletic Association Women's Golf Division I Southwest District Tournament. The tournament runs Monday through Wednesday, April 28-30, at Canyon West Golf Club.
This is the seventh NJCAA regional/district tournament the college has hosted in the last four years (softball in 2022, baseball in 2023, volleyball in 2023, men's/women's basketball in 2024, women's golf in 2024).
The champion and runner-up teams, as well as the top two individuals, will earn berths in the NJCAA Division I National Tournament, held this year in Finney County, Kansas.
Several teams ranked in the national top 30 will compete in the Southwest District Championship, including No. 2 Odessa College, No. 5 New Mexico Junior College, No. 10 McLennan Community College, No. 12 Weatherford College, No. 20 North Central Texas College, No. 25 Western Texas College and No. 25 Collin College as well as Ranger College.
