One up, one down for WC basketball
Weatherford College women's basketball dominated Southwestern Christian College 105-69, while the men's team fell to the Rams 78-74.
The Lady Coyotes put on a show in the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center Saturday night, each quarter more impressive than the last besting Southwestern Christian College 105-69.
The Weatherford College women's basketball team took charge early with a dominating lead against the Lady Rams, ending the first half with nearly a 20 point difference.
This is the second game in a row for the Lady Coyotes to score more than 100 points, only five points shy of tying the highest scoring game this season.
Dynamic duo Jacque Giron and Neso Anisiobi put up 20 points each. Freshman guard Zion Hayes scored 15 points and freshman forward Pearson McVay put up 10.
WC men's basketball fought hard against SWCC on Saturday, going strong until the very end, but the Rams won 78-74.
Several players for WC played well against SWCC. Marcus-Myen King-Danchie put up 14 points, Antwan Wilson and Tyson Whybrew scored 13 points each and Braylon Crosby shot for 12 points.
Both teams face off against Temple College on Wednesday, Jan. 22 in Temple.
