Hoops teams split with Ranger
The Weatherford College and Ranger College basketball teams faced off in the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center Monday with Weatherford winning the women’s game and the Ranger men countering with a win.

The Lady Coyotes won 63-58, their third consecutive victory. Ranger had a seven-point lead at halftime, but the Weatherford defense held Ranger to 24 second-half points.
Jasmyne Robinson scored 19 points with six assists for WC. Diamond Sweats added 16 points and 10 rebounds. Adela Valkova had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Wilashia Burleson led Ranger with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
WC improved to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference.
The Ranger men jumped out to a 43-29 lead and held on for a 75-61 win.
Jayden Patcha led the Coyotes with 12 points and seven rebounds. Matthew Okoye added 10 points and five rebounds.
WC dropped to 10-6 overall and 1-2 in conference. Ranger improved to 11-6, 2-2.
Both Weatherford teams will face Grayson College in Denison Saturday and return home to face Southwestern Christian College Wednesday, Jan. 26.
