Weatherford College had another big night from Jasmyne Robinson as the Lady Coyote basketball team beat McLennan Community College 86-75 Wednesday at the Betty Jo Graber Athletic Center.
The sophomore from Arlington scored 24 points and added five rebounds, six assists and seven steals in the win. Robinson is averaging 15.5 points per game, the fifth best average in the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference.
Adela Valkova scored 22 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Her 9.0 boards per game ranks fifth in the NTJCAC.
The Lady Coyotes shot 50.8 percent from the field and made 20 out of 23 free throw attempts.
Weatherford is 11-4 overall and 7-4 in conference play.
The WC men's team lost to McLennan in overtime 71-69. The Coyotes had the lead for most of the second half but the Highlanders made a late push to force overtime.
Weatherford shot 40 percent from the field and made seven three-pointers.
Aaron Heft came off the bench to lead WC in scoring with 15 points. Billy Hill led the Coyotes in rebounds with 11. Dillion Bennett hit four three-pointers and scored 10 points.
The WC men are 7-9 overall and 2-7 in conference play.
Both Weatherford teams travel to Collin College Saturday and return to the Graber Center Monday to face Ranger College at 5 and 7 p.m.
