Softball drops doubleheader to No. 4 Temple
Coyotes look to finish the regular season with two wins on Saturday
The No. 20 Weatherford College softball team suffered pair of losses against No. 4 Temple College at Stuart Field on Wednesday, getting shut out 13-0 in game one and dropping game two 7-3.
WC now has a 34-12 overall record and sit at 18-8 in conference play.
The Leopards took charge early in game one, putting up three in the first inning. WC did their best to find some momentum, but a nine-run inning from Temple in the top of the third sealed the deal in the early matchup.
Game two saw the Coyotes taking the lead in the bottom of the second on a three-run home run from Casidy Victorino. The Leopards answered with three runs of their own, followed by another three in the next two innings. WC went without a run for the remainder of the game.
Having clinched a postseason berth previously, WC looks to even up the series at Temple on Saturday May 2, with game one set to start at noon. Postseason seeding will be determined after Saturday's games.
