Coyote softball extends win streak to seven games
WC continued its late-season momentum with a doubleheader sweep of NCTC on Wednesday in Gainesville.

The No. 22 Weatherford College softball team continued its late-season surge Wednesday, beating North Central Texas College in both games of a doubleheader at Darwin Field in Gainesville to extend its winning streak to seven games.
Weatherford blanked the Lions 3-0 in the opener before rolling to a 14-3 victory in five innings in game two. The Coyotes improved to 32-10 overall and 16-6 in conference play.
Game One: Weatherford 3, North Central Texas 0
Sarah Hanf tossed a three-hit shutout to lead Weatherford to the opening-game win. Hanf (13-4) struck out seven and allowed just one walk over seven innings as the Coyotes snapped a scoreless tie with three runs over the final four frames.
Rian Coon went 2-for-2 with a double, a run scored and an RBI, while Aofia Noa finished 2-for-3 with two RBI. Karlie Landrum added a hit, scored a run and drew a walk for Weatherford.
After four scoreless innings, the Coyotes broke through in the fifth. Weatherford added two more runs in the sixth to provide Hanf all the support she needed in the circle.
Game Two: Weatherford 14, North Central Texas 3 (5 innings)
The Weatherford offense erupted for 16 hits in the second game, scoring in four of the first five innings to seal the sweep.
Joni Jackson led the charge, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored, two RBI and a home run. Coon continued her big day with a 3-for-4 performance, scoring three runs and driving in three. Aundrea Thompson recorded a triple and drove in three runs, while Landrum added two RBI and scored twice.
Alex Graham went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI, and Mabri Warren chipped in an RBI single as Weatherford built a commanding lead.
Kamryn Mears earned the win in the circle, improving to 13-4 after striking out seven in five innings. She allowed three unearned runs on two hits with one walk.
Weatherford scored once in the first, four times in the third and fourth innings, and added five runs in the fifth to put the game out of reach.
The Coyotes will look to keep their momentum going as they continue conference play this weekend, hosting NCTC at Stuart Field in a doubleheader Saturday. Game one begins at noon.
