Hanf and Reid named Players of the Week

Weatherford College softball had two players earn conference player of the week honors last week. Right-handed pitcher Sarah Hanf and second baseman Sadie Reid were each selected as the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference softball pitcher and position player of the week.

 

Hanf is no stranger to receiving this recognition, having earned it four times this season for her outstanding job in the pitcher's circle. In the Coyotes' four game series against Hill College, Hanf won all three of her starts. She racked up 27 strikeouts and only allowed one walk on four hits. Hanf also became the first pitcher in the history of Weatherford College softball to pitch a perfect game. 

 

Newark, Texas native Sadie Reid was the NTJCAC Position Player of the Week. Batting .619 for the week, Reid finished with 18 runs batted in on three doubles and one triple. She also scored 11 runs, drew a walk, and stole a base.

The Coyote softball team will be competing in the Region V Tournament May 7-9. Their first-round site and opponent will be determined after the conclusion of the regular season April 28.
