Pinkston on top in round one for WC rodeo
Coyotes compete at CNFR
Starting out strong on Monday at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper, the Weatherford College men's and women's rodeo teams began round one of the College National Finals Rodeo.
The CNFR hosts more than 100 colleges and universities from across the country, with over 400 athletes competing for the championship title.
Acey Pinkston led the way for the Coyotes, taking the top spot with a score of 13.62 seconds in barrel racing. In team roping, Hunter Helton and Jeryn Ellerd finished in third place with a 5.7-second run, followed by Jett Stewart and Belden Cox in fourth place with a score of 6.0.
WC will continue competing in the second round Tuesday, June 16, with the third performance beginning Thursday, June 18.
