WC rodeo secures three top titles at Cisco
After securing 3 major event wins last weekend, your WC Rodeo team is ready to compete on home dirt! Be there for the inaugural Weatherford College Lone Star Region Rodeo this Oct. 9-11.
The Weatherford College rodeo team continued its strong start to the season, bringing home three first-place wins from the Cisco College Rodeo held this past weekend in Abilene. The men's team earned the reserve champion title and the women's team finished third overall.
Mitchie Story took the overall title in saddle bronc riding with a 168 score on two head, earning first place in both the long and short rounds (85 and 83).
In team roping, duo Denton Parrish and Brock Borkman maintained their lead through both rounds, combining for a total of 10.7 seconds on two head to secure the overall first-place win.
Alexi Hutchings was crowned the champion in goat tying with a combined time of 13.1 seconds on two runs.
The success continued with Jett Stewart and Beldon Cox winning second place in team roping with 12.5 on two. Pax Vogel and Travis Staley placed fourth, and Hunter Helton and Ryan Gorham finished seventh.
Mecate Trammell's 77 on one won second overall in bull riding.
In barrel racing, Acey Pinkston won second with a 30.62 on two, with teammates Roxy Waring and Hevenli Scribner in fifth and eighth, respectively.
Kaydence Tindall tied for third in breakaway roping with a 4.5 on two, followed by Gentry Goza in sixth and Acey Pinkston in 11th.
In tiedown roping, the Coyotes claimed four spots in the top 10. Zane Rampey's 17.1 on two won second, Cash Evans' 19.3 on two placed third, RJ Johnson finished sixth and Pax Vogel ninth.
Tryan Hurley placed fifth in bareback riding. Jase Stout placed sixth and Wyatt Nuce finished 10th in saddle bronc. Jake Shelton finished eighth in steer wrestling. Kynlee Stevens placed 10th in goat tying.
