Cox, Ritchie cinch first in team roping
Rodeo duo Beldon Cox and Cason Ritchie lead the WC rodeo team at the Texas Tech Rodeo
Weatherford College's Beldon Cox and Cason Ritchie from Texas Tech University heeled the competition for a first-place win in team roping at the Tech Rodeo held in Lubbock this past weekend.
Their 7.3 in the first round tied them for 8thplace and a first place of 8.7 in the short go brought them to a 16.0 on two head and the win.
The WC duo Dalton Huston and Brock Rouse placed third with 19.5 on two and Pax Vogel and Travis Staley finished 8th.
Vogel went on to place fourth in tiedown roping after a 9.5 in the first round and an 8.4 in the second. Dylan Barrett placed seventh with 25.7 on two.
Courtney Carbajal took third in breakaway roping with a 5.9 on two.
In saddle bronc riding, Jase Stout's 139 on two secured a fourth place finish.
Jacee Graff finished sixth in goat tying and Briley Reeves also took sixth in barrel racing.
In steer roping, Zane Huffman finished seventh and Catcher Gasperson placed 10th.
