Bio
Dave Rennhack became Weatherford College’s head golf coach in 2024.
Rennhack won the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Coach of the Year Award in both 2025 and 2026.
The WC men’s team won conference championships in both 2025 and 2026 and the Region V championship in 2026. They took 15th place at the 2025 NJCAA Division I National Tournament, and jumped 10 spots to fifth place at the 2026 national tournament, the best finish in school history.
The women’s team won their conference title in 2026, and qualified for nationals in 2025 and 2026. The 2026 team climbed 11 spots from the previous year, finishing fourth in the nation in only their third year of existence.
Rennhack has been teaching the game of golf since 1990 as a PGA professional, having trained and developed top juniors, amateurs, collegiate players and professionals.
He most recently served as the head golf professional at Rockwood Park Golf Course in Fort Worth. His resume includes positions as a director of golf, general manager and teaching professional at several courses including being an owner of an indoor golf training studio in Colleyville and the Texas Legends Golf Ranch in The Colony.
He is also the owner and inventor of the SwingWave Golf Trainer, a patented system that utilizes the flow of water in a high tech designed chamber to facilitate the proper motion of the ultimate golf swing.
Rennhack has worked with college golfers at the Golf Academy of America. He developed and taught classes such as History of Golf, Managing Golf Operations, Golf Shop Merchandising, Methods of Teaching, Advanced Teaching Techniques and Golf Course Agronomy. Many of his former students became PGA professionals and continue to work in the industry today.
He began his collegiate golf career at Weatherford College, recruited out of Southlake Carroll High School in the mid-1980s by Coach Rod Embry. From WC, he moved on to the University of Houston, playing for Dave Williams, who led the Cougars to 16 NCAA national championships.
Dave and his wife, Regina, have been married for more than three decades. They have three adult children: Natalie, Nicholas and Lindsey.
