Men’s golf finishes third in South Central District Championship, Mayer wins individuals
Coyotes look ahead to National Championship after bronze performance in San Antonio
Facing off against several tough opponents at the South Central District Championship, held at the Mission Del Lago Municipal Golf Course in San Antonio, the No. 3 Weatherford College men's golf team continued to perform at a high level.
The Coyotes placed third as a team, shooting four under par in round one, and running an even par in rounds two and three. WC came in behind No. 2 Odessa and No. 4 McLennan.
No. 4 Michael Mayer won the individual champion award, completing the course 11 under par. Mayer beat out No. 2 Abe Bignell from McLennan, and No. 9 Noah Sandlin from Tyler.
The Coyotes will travel to the NJCAA Division 1 National Championship at Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kansas, from May 12-15.
