Coyote golf improves in second tourney
Weatherford College’s Chris Choi was nine under par and finished tied for 14th out of 64 golfers at the High Country Shootout in Ruidoso, New Mexico, Sunday and Monday.
Weatherford College's Chris Choi was nine under par and finished tied for 14th out of 64 golfers at the High Country Shootout in Ruidoso, New Mexico, Sunday and Monday.
Choi, a Burleson High School graduate, shot 66-70-71 over the three-round event at The Links at Sierra Blanca.
WC's Gatlin Goad finished tied for 28th and improved each round, shooting 72-71-70.
"We played much better as a team," said Jesse Speirs, WC head men's golf coach. "Last week in Waco, we were almost last in pars made, but this week we were third. Chris led the team, and Gatlin played extremely solid for his first college event."
The Coyotes finished seventh out of 11 teams at 14-under. Midland College won the tournament at 68-under.
Next, WC travels to Victoria Oct. 18-19 for the University of Houston Victoria Fall Classic.
