Brasier to Rangers
It's baseball time in Texas as WC alumnus comes home to play for the Texas Rangers
Two-time World Series champion and Weatherford College alumnus Ryan Brasier is coming back home to Texas.
Brasier recently agreed to a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on February 10, which coincidently was the same day pitchers and catchers reported to Surprise, Arizona for spring training. Brasier is one of 25 non-roster invitees going to camp with the Rangers.
Brasier is a Wichita Falls native, growing up roughly 130 miles away from Arlington. He played for the Coyotes in 2007 and was taken by the Los Angeles Angels in the sixth round of the 2007 draft.
The 38-year-old right-hander has a 10-9 record with a 3.90 ERA in 325 career appearances -- all but six of them in relief -- for four different teams over nine big league seasons. He has pitched for two World Series-winning teams, the Boston Red Sox in 2018 and the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2024.
