BELTON -- The postseason begins Thursday for the Weatherford College basketball program at the Region V Tournament hosted by the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Both WC teams own the top seed from the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference and will face #4 seeds from the Western Junior College Athletic Conference in the first round.

The Coyotes (24-5) will face South Plains (23-5) Thursday at 2:30 p.m. If WC wins, they will face the Midland/Collin winner at 12:30 p.m. Saturday. The men's championship game will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

The Lady Coyotes (21-4) take on Western Texas (16-14) Friday at 7:00 p.m. If WC wins, they will face the Midland/Temple winner Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The women's championship will be Sunday at 5:00 p.m.

Each regional champion will earn a berth in the NJCAA national tournament. The tournament features two national champions from last season: the women from Odessa College and the men from Midland College.

All WC postseason games will be broadcast on 89.5 FM KYQX.
