Roderick Flemings was named Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and a first team All-Conference selection. The 6-foot-7 sophomore from Desoto led the NTJCAC in scoring with 20.6 points per game. He also ranked second in rebounds (11.7), second in blocks (1.5), fourth in steals (2.7) and fourth in field goal percentage (56.2).
Mark Osina won the Coach of the Year Award after leading the Coyotes to their sixth conference title. This is his fourth Coach of the Year Award and his 17th year at WC.
In the women's conference, Bob McKinley won the Coach of the Year Award for the second consecutive season. The Lady Coyotes won their tenth NTJCAC title and their fifth in the last eight years. This is McKinley's seventh Coach of the Year award and his 32nd year at WC.
Other honorees include Coyotes Edvinas Ruzgas and Cortney Hill as first-team All-Conference selections, second team selection Tyler Hull, and Curtis Bowens and J.D. Lane as honorable mention picks. Lady Coyote Afeisha Noel was a first team All-Conference selection, Julita Bungaite and Tanesha Wilkins were second teamers and Monique Burnham and Ashley Harrell were honorable mention selections.
Both teams are heading to the Region V Tournament at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton March 6-9.
