Coach Bob McKinleyThrough the 2008-09 season, Bob McKinley owns a 742-342 record in his 32 years coaching basketball at WC, making him the winningest two-year college basketball coach in the nation. The coaches of the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference have named him Coach of the Year eight times, including the last three seasons.

Under McKinley, the Lady Coyotes have earned 11 conference championships, three regional championships, three national tournament berths and one NJCAA Final Four appearance. So far, 13 All-America selections and 13 Academic All-America honorees have played for the WC coach.

As a player, McKinley led Bowie High School to the state finals in 1959 and the regional tournament in 1958 and 1960, earning a spot in the Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame. He went on to play at TCU, where he was named team captain of the Horned Frogs.

He began his coaching career at Pasadena High School, eventually moving on to Houston Baptist University. He came to WC in 1977, coaching both the women's and men's teams with Mark Osina until he took sole responsibility for the Lady Coyotes in 1995.

His wife, Dee, is retired from the Weatherford ISD. Bob and Dee have two children, Trey McKinley and Traci McKinley, and four grandchildren.


Reda Petraitis
Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

Coach Reda PetraitisReda Petraitis was a leader on what many call the Lady Coyotes' greatest team: the 1996-97 squad that finished fourth in the NJCAA national tournament. Under her maiden name, Reda Kakeranaite, she was a two-time All-Conference selection and an All-Region selection as a sophomore.

Reda moved on to play at Oregon State University, where finished as a starter, leading the Lady Beavers to a 10-8 Pac-10 record as a senior. She led the team in rebounds (7.4 per game) and steals (2.5) in 1999-00.

She earned a bachelor's degree at OSU in 2001 in Liberal Arts. She is married to former Coyote All-American Ramunas Petraitis and has one son, Rytis.
