LUBBOCK -- The Weatherford College baseball team ended the 2008 season at the Region V Tournament at Lubbock Christian University Tuesday night.

WC was leading 3-2 in the sixth inning in an elimination game with New Mexico Junior College when tournament officials stopped the game after a fight. Both teams were forced to forfeit the game, knocking them out of the tournament.

Clarendon, scheduled to play the winner of the Weatherford/New Mexico game, will now face Grayson in the regional championship.

WC had defeated New Mexico 11-1, lost to Clarendon 19-3 and defeated El Paso 13-3 in tournament action prior to the New Mexico rematch. The Coyotes finished the season with a 37-19 overall record.
