ALPINE – Weatherford College team ropers Joe Beers and Randall Eggemeyer sit in second place in the Southwest Region standings after the Sul Ross State University Rodeo Oct. 2-4. The pair finished third in the average at the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association event.

Team ropers Jake Cobb and Karl Rios were second in the long go but had no time in the short go to finish seventh in the average.

WC barrel racer Kody Engle finished first in the long go with a time of 15.55, but also had trouble in the short go, hitting a barrel to take her out of the final standings.

In steer wrestling, Reagon Walker tied for fifth in the long go, finished third in the short go and third in the average.

Bareback rider Jake Snyder took ninth in the long go and seventh in the short go and the average.

The team travels to the Vernon College Rodeo Oct 9-11.
