After a one-year hiatus, Weatherford College regular season basketball games are back on the air. The radio play-by-play team of Randy Jean and Vickie Combs begin their coverage of WC basketball on Wednesday, Jan. 6, as WC travels to Hillsboro to take on Hill College. The women tip-off at 5:30 p.m., and the men play at 7:30 p.m. Jean and Combs will broadcast all road conference games and postseason games for both the Lady Coyotes and Coyotes on 89.5 FM and online at www.qxfm.com. Jean is a 15-year veteran of sports broadcasting, including four years as the play-by-play voice of WC basketball. Combs is entering her fourth season as the color commentator for the WC broadcasts, and brings previous experience as the news director and morning drive host at Weatherford's KZEE Radio in the 1990s. The broadcast schedule is as follows: Jan. 6 at Hill (5:30/7:30 p.m.); Jan. 20 at Temple (5:30/7:30); Jan. 23 at Southwestern Christian (2/4 p.m.); Jan. 30 at Cisco (2 p.m., Lady Coyotes only); Feb. 6 at Collin (2/4 p.m.); Feb. 13 at Grayson (2/4 p.m.) Feb. 15 at Ranger (5:30/7:30 p.m.); Feb. 24 at McLennan (5:30/7:30 p.m.); Region 5 Tournament, beginning Mar. 4 at Lubbock Christian University.
