Roderick FlemingsDENVER - Former Weatherford College basketball player Roderick Flemings has been named the Western Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 8-14. The honor marks the first career WAC Player of the Week award for Flemings, who now plays for the University of Hawaii.

Flemings, a junior from DeSoto, tied a school record for points by a UH player in the Stan Sheriff Center when he registered a career-high 37 points in a 75-55 win over Eastern Washington last week. Flemings finished 16-of-23 (.696) from the field, 1-of-3 from beyond the arc, and 4-of-6 from three-point range against EWU.

In a 68-58 loss at Illinois, Flemings recorded his second straight double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. He also added three blocks against the Illini.

On the week, Flemings averaged 25.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists, while shooting 64.7 (22-of-34) percent from the field.

Flemings led Weatherford College to a conference championship in the 2007-08 season, earning first team All-America honors from the National Junior College Athletic Association. Flemings was also named Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and a first team All-Conference selection in the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference.
