Coyotes back on top with win over Ranger

Photo by Nic VossWEATHERFORD -- The combination of a Weatherford College win over Ranger and Temple's loss to McLennan Monday night gave the Coyote basketball team sole possession of first place again in the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference.

WC (21-5, 9-2) jumped to an early lead and finished with a 79-60 victory at the Betty Jo Crumm Graber Athletic Center. Cortney Hill led WC with 19 points, and Roderick Flemings turned in another double-double (17 pts., 15 reb.).

Scouts from eight university basketball programs were present, including Penn State, Northwestern and TCU.

Temple's 77-75 loss to McLennan Monday night also helped WC, putting the Coyotes back in the driver's seat in the conference standings.
