Belton -- The 4th-seeded South Plains Texans upset top-seeded Weatherford College in the Region V men's basketball tournament, 92-87 at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Thursday.

SPC's Nick Okorie led all scorers with 33 points. Edvinas Ruzgas led Weatherford with 30. South Plains (24-5) advances to the semifinal round to play Midland Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Weatherford, champion of the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference ends its season at 24-6.
