Weatherford College's George Rowland held his top regional spot in tie-down roping at the Odessa College Rodeo, March 26-28. The sophomore from Paradise jumped from fourth place to first place in the final average after an impressive run in the short go. Clif Cooper finished in second place behind his teammate. Cooper, a sophomore from Decatur, trails Rowland by a slim 28 points in the regional standings, currently holding second place. WC's Christopher Demases ranks third. Kayla Emmons led the goat tying event after the first go, but an eighth place run in the short go knocked her out of the final placings. The next National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, Southwest Region event is scheduled for April 2-4 at Western Texas College.
